I will still get a copy in my Origin library I can run without Steam like I can Jedi Fallen Order, EA will just lose 30% of the price to Steam and I'll get to take screencaps with ease. Various issues went unpatched for years.Ĭheap move and I'll match it by buying on Steam.

The DLC authentication issues with Mass Effect 2 are the worst of the trilogy and should have long been fixed, not become a worse problem with every reinstall.

I own this on console and PC, bought the DLC back when it was points and the DLC authentication has gotten more broken over the years on PC and they absolutely should have offered people who own everything a discount at least on PC- console is understandable because much more work. EA, on the other hand, has nada, its client only succumbs to a mere means of DRM. For example, Ubisoft gives Units for playing their games (aka achievements) trough its client, which then can be used for buying in-game content (items and missions alike) or a 20% discount code for it's bigger games and addons. Ubisoft and others did a lot of thinking work in this field. And this means well thought reward structures. If they want to promote Origin's use, it's a necessity to give loyal customers good vibes. Origin sales are sales EA doesn't have to share with its competitors. Hypothetically, if EA would give for buying this collection on their house client a cumulative discount, maybe 1 percentage point for each base game and each DLC owned on Origin, it would naturally promote the use of Origin and boost it to a higher level.

On the other hand, the trilogy of the Mass Effect series costs the double amount of 60 bucks, and its first part isn't a remake, it's only a remaster! This whole package had cost me only 30 bucks. I bought the grand remake of the grand Mafia 1, which was bundled with the remasters of Mafia 2 & 3. I had no illusions as well getting the remaster for free.
